In a competitive academic publishing environment, researchers who speak English as a second language are often at a disadvantage, despite the quality of their research. It is no longer enough to present novel and significant results; these results must also be communicated clearly and concisely to readers.
Moravec Science Editing provides substantial editing, proofreading, formatting, and pre-submission advice for research reports, white papers, and peer-review journal and conference papers. Topics include computer science and information technology, electrical and electronics engineering, and some physics. In particular, artificial intelligence, including deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision, are topics of expertise.
Kimberly Moravec received her BS degree in in electrical engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Colorado, USA, in 1994 and her PhD in information systems from the University of East Anglia, UK, in 2001. In industry, she worked as an electrical engineer at Lockheed Martin Astronautics, USA, and as a researcher in image processing and computer vision at XEROX Research Centre Europe in the UK and France. She has worked in both academic and industrial research environments, and completed a research fellowship at University College London, UK, on multimedia retrieval (2011). Her interests include image processing and computer vision, machine learning, content-based media retrieval, and nearest-neighbor problems.
Dr. Moravec began editing in 2011.
